Vancouver Photographer's Work Highlighted in Major Fashion Collection
Jil Sander presents homage to Greg Girard's Under Vancouver Series at Milan Fashion Week

Canadian photographer Greg Girard's work has been showcased in the spring-summer 2025 collection of luxury fashion brand Jil Sander.
Designer duo Lucie and Luke Meier, who are behind the Milan, Italy-based brand, used Girard's images as prints on their work for the new collection, which debuted at Milan Fashion Week on Sept. 18.
“They took their cues from the work of the Canadian photographer Greg Girard,” wrote Nicole Phelps in Vogue magazine.
“His images of 20th-century cars and motel rooms appeared as prints, the former on a boxy shirt and pencil skirt and the latter on a caban and matching shift that complemented the show’s carpeted runway. Girard’s neon-lit nighttime photos also informed the collection’s palette, from the iridescent suiting for men and women that opened the show — jackets and pants (or shorts) matching shirt and tie — to the glossy brake-light red of a trench that came near the end.”
Girard is represented by Monte Clark Gallery. His work is found in collections around the world, including the Vancouver Art Gallery and the National Gallery of Canada, and he is the author of several books, including Under Vancouver: 1972 — 1982, his first comprehensive collection of Vancouver photographs.
