Vancouver's Contemporary Art Gallery Appoints New Director

Matthew Hyland

Vancouver's Contemporary Art Gallery has  appointed Matthew Hyland as its new executive director, effective March 16.

Hyland is currently director and curator at Oakville Galleries in Ontario.

He will succeed former executive director Nigel Prince, who was at the gallery for nine years prior to his move in September to lead Artes Mundi in Britain.

Hyland joined Oakville Galleries in 2007 as assistant curator, and was appointed to the director’s post in 2009.
