Alberta landscape painter W.H. (Bill) Webb has died.
Webb moved from England to Canada in 1968 and found a job teaching art in Alberta. He held the position of superintendent when he retired in 1990 to become a full-time artist.
He had his first solo exhibition at the West End Gallery in Edmonton in 1986.
Webb worked in acrylic on canvas, painting large realistic landscapes, and his work is in the collections of the Alberta Medical Association and the City of Edmonton Mayor's Office.
"Bill Webb was a pillar of excellence and, when given a task, completed it the only way he knew how – with perfection," the gallery said.
